I was thinking that we can maybe implement a workshop cycle
Proposed Plan of Implementation:
The best ways to start thinking about doing this are:
Workshop Implementation and Evaluation Cycle: Pre-workshop:
Participants as well as principals will be aware of the Workshop Cycle. It is an ongoing process to build capacity. Workshop Delivery:
Regular delivery at one location
Delivery using video-conferencing:
· Modeling 21st Distance Learning
· Exposing participants to the power of video conferencing
· Ability to reach more people at the same time
· Cost can be spread among the different schools who will be participating
· Participants will be able to stay within their borough and not travel to outside locations.
Immediate Feedback:
Following the workshop, this will serve as a tool to evaluate the workshop itself and the presenter.
Implementation /Follow-up (One month):
A set time frame (for example up to one month) will be set for a follow-up on all participants taking the workshop. The follow-up will be done through e-mail asking participants to share whether they were able to implement what was covered in the workshop.
Yes: Participants will be asked to complete a simple form detailing what they have done and whether they can send us examples of completed projects. No: Participants will be asked to share what hinders their ability to implement.
Principals will be CC on correspondence to keep them in the loop.
If teachers took the workshop and require additional support, their information will be forwarded to the building’s technology liaison.
Implementation /Follow-up (Three months):
Participants who didn’t implement will be asked (via email) what is impeding their ability to utilize the tools within their classroom 3 months following the date of the workshop.
Final Evaluation:**
6 months after a workshop was delivered an in-house evaluation will take place to analyze results: What worked, what didn’t work, what steps where taken to support PD sessions and implementation, what steps were taken on a building level to build capacity.
Among the participants who had implemented what was covered in PD sessions and returned the evaluations we will look for best practices and reward those participants with acknowledgement in (e.g.: OIT website, Knowledge Management Bank – example of work, video documentation)
